Women’s Wilderness Weekend - Level 2

April 26 - 28, 2024

(20 Students Max) 3 Days or 2 Nights

Lead Instructor: Jacks Genega

Instructor Profile

Women’s Wilderness Weekend LEVEL 2 is a course designed to build on top of LEVEL 1 as we leave our preparedness from kit based items to off the landscape. This class is directed towards women of all ages to encourage more female participation in the fields of bushcraft and primitive skills. Students from all skill levels are welcome and no experience is required. Whether you are a proclaimed survivalist, a weekend bushcrafter, a homesteader, an ultralight hiker, or just a general every day woodswoman this class is designed to promote a sense of
community through our shared love of nature.

Throughout the weekend we will learn to take care of our immediate needs in woodland living as we discuss self-aid, fire with friction, and primitive shelter building. Other topics will include various woodland craft, knots, navigation, and food procurement. This class is for
participants who desire to both learn and grow, as well as how to develop a sense of resilience through self-reliance in both community and as individuals in the wild.

Look for the signs directing you to the second driveway on your right next to the large barn and blue dumpster. Pull in past the Welcome Sign and park at the entrance of the trail straight ahead.

Grab your gear and follow the signs to Basecamp located about 200 yards down the main trail beyond the red gate. This is where the majority of class instruction will be throughout the weekend.

Set up camp anywhere to the right (west) side of the main trail surrounding Basecamp. We suggest setting up further away from the main fire pit if you prefer to not hear possible late night fireside conversations.
