Considered the "Gold Standard" in non-practitioner Wilderness Medicine training, this 22-hour class builds on material covered in our WFA course, and introduces students to commercial equipment and supplies that may be encountered during an incident response. Class size is strictly limited to 10 students. Like our WFA program, a comfortable chair, clothing suitable for the conditions, a notebook and a headlamp are required. Regardless of weather conditions, challenging day and night scenarios should be expected by all students.
Prerequisite: Current and valid Off Grid Medic WFA Certification.
Curriculum covers: Expanded Anatomy and Physiology, Expanded Vital Signs, Use of Airway Adjuncts, Medical Oxygen Administration, Improvised and Commercial Cervical Spine Immobilization, Joint Dislocation and Reduction, Commercial and Improvised Traction Splints, and Rotary Aircraft Ground Operations.
