Blade Show 2023 Recap
This year we decided to stay mobile and strategic at Blade Show. For the whole weekend, we traveled the floor checking in with members of the GABC community and some of our favorite knife companies. Check out some new and upcoming models from this great group in our videos below!
LT Wright Knives / Woods Monkey
Of course, we couldn't go to Blade Show and not stop by and see our friends at LT Wright Knives. Mike and Brian gave us a quick breakdown of what they had to offer, including a redesigned classic, an addition to the Wild Harvest Collection, and a new offering from Woods Monkey. You can check out these and a ton of other great blades from LTWK, at the 2023 Fall Gathering! You can get a better look at these blades in the videos below.
Helle Knives
We're big fans of Helle Knives. They make some classic Scandinavian designs that are truly impressive bushcraft knives. At Blade Show, Andars shared an awesome story about the origin of their Didi Galgalu knife. You have to hear the story to understand how truly epic it is, but here's a teaser for you. The knife was designed over the course of four weeks as Andars and the Voetspore overland team crossed through nine African countries. This is the perfect example of why Blade Show is a must-see. Hearing stories like this from knife designers from around the world is an amazing experience.
Work Sharp
Georgia Bushcraft and Work Sharp have been partners for years, and it was great to catch up with them. We got a hands-on demo of their new Pro PA Sharpening System. Just in case you didn't know, the Pro PA has been so popular that they've sold out every time they're available on the Work Sharp website. Now, we totally see why. It's a great system that provides precision sharpening for a wide range of angles and knife sizes. We hope to get a chance to review it here on the GABC Blog in the near future.
Condor Knife & Tool
Last but certainly not least, we caught up with the one and only Joe Flowers to see what Condor has in store this year. As usual, there's a Condor knife for everyone. It was especially cool to see the Trog and the 14C20N Terrasaur. Essentially both are updates to the modern classic, the Terrasaur. They feature polymer handles but different blade options to suit your purposes. Check out this video to get a closer look at these new models and some other cool stuff from GABC 2023 Sponsor Condor Knives!
