2023 Georgia Bushcraft Gift Guide

2023 Georgia Bushcraft Gift Guide

It's time to start chipping away at that shopping list! We've assembled a gift guide featuring some gear from our favorite brands that includes something for everyone at a variety of price points.

Bushcraft Coffee Co. - Single Serve Packets

Coffee and convenience sounds like a win to us! That's why we love the Single Serving packets from Bushcraft Coffee Co. All you need is some hot water and a few minutes to brew a cup of joe. Plus, you can pick one packet or a bunch for the coffee lover on your shopping list.

Blue Ridge Overland Gear - Headrest IFAK Bundle

BROG's products aren't just for off-roading and overland journeys. That's why we think the Headrest IFAK Kit is perfect whether you use your vehicle for hitting the trails or if it's strictly for pavement. This combo provides not only an organized and easily identifiable spot to carry a first aid kit but it also makes sure it stays within reach and accessible, even during emergency situations. The headrest panel simply wraps around the headrest, and the IFAK attaches to it via Velcro. Giving the gift of preparedness is never a bad idea.

Condor Knife & Tool - Urban EDC Puukko

It's difficult to pick a favorite blade from Condor's extensive catalog, but if we had to choose just one, the Urban EDC Puukko would be at the top of our list. Featuring 1095 steel and a thin full-flat grind, this knife is meant to tackle the cutting tasks you run into day to day, no matter if you're in the backcountry or around town. The black paper Micarta handles give it a timeless look, and the hollow pins provide multiple options for a lanyard. It's paired with a traditional rear seam leather sheath. As an added bonus, it's designed by our friend Joe Flowers.

Grayl - UltraPress® Ti Purifier

Clean water is key, and we've yet to find a quicker and more efficient way to purify water than the Grayl line of presses. The newest addition to that collection, the 16.9oz UltraPress® Ti Purifier, provides clean water in a slim and lightweight package. Plus, you can use the outer cup over a fire or camp stove. It's worth noting that Grayl products purify, not just filter, so you're getting rid of viruses, bacteria, protozoa, particulates, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, and heavy metals.

Griffin Pocket Tools - Mini

There's a Griffin Pocket Tool for just about everyone, with multiple sizes and materials available. The GPT Mini is a great introduction to the world of Griffins, and it makes a great stocking stuffer. You can choose between titanium, stainless steel, copper, brass, or cerakoted. Regardless of the material, each GPT Mini packs ten tools into a tiny package. Nearly everyone will appreciate having a key clip, a screwdriver, a scoring tool, a bottle opener, a pry tool, and four wrench sizes at hand in a small, convenient package.

Grim Workshop - Survival Cards

Another great stocking stuff is the Survival Cards from the fine folks at Grim Workshop. From lock picking to mini survival kits, you can find a card set for those who venture into the urban wilderness or deep into the backcountry. Dr. Mark Merriwether even collaborated with Grim Workshop to develop a card full of tools to help you forage medicinal and edible plants.

Harden Hill Honey - Propolis

One of our favorite finds of the years has been the Propolis Tincture from Hardin Hill Honey. Propolis is nature's antibiotic and pain reliever. It's great for soothing a fresh wound, and continued application promotes healing. While we can't make any official claims about its medicinal properties since we aren't a drug manufacturer, we can tell you we've seen firsthand how well it promotes healing. Propolis has been used for centuries, and we can definitely see why.*

LT Wright Knives - Bushcrafter

While our friends at LT Wright Knives make dozens of models to fit a variety of needs, we thought we'd stick with a classic for the 2023 Bushcraft Gear Guide. The Bushcrafter has been in the LTWK catalog for a number of years but still remains popular, and with good reason. You can occasionally find exotic steels and handle materials, but there's nothing wrong with the classic O1 paired with Natural Micarta. Measuring in with a 3 5/8 inch blade and an overall length of 8 1/4 inches, it's a great EDC blade that can handle bushcraft tasks in the wilderness.

Olde Towne Cutlery - Flexcut Carvin' Jack

Carving tools are super handy for many tasks, including carving for fun and function. And with the Flexcut Spoon Carvin' Jack Knife, you can have multiple tools in a nice compact package. Each blade locks independently, and the curved blade is great for spoons and other complicated cuts. The textured aluminum scales provide a secure and comfortable grip for hours of carving. Plus, it's made right here in the US of A, and you can pick one up from our friends at Old Towne Cutlery.

Pro Camp Tek - Fire Plugs

It's never a bad idea to have a good supply of firestarters on hand, and the team at Pro Camp Tek makes some of the best on the market. We especially like the Fire Plugs because they can be stashed in just about any kit, and one plug is enough to start a number of fires. If those aren't your style, you can also check out the Fast Fire Sticks and the Fire Strop Rolls. Regardless of the size or form factor you're looking for, Pro Camp Tek has a firestarter for you.

River Edge Cutlery - Council Tool Axe

A mid-sized axe is indispensable in the woods. River Edge Cutlery has a great selection of made-in-the-USA Council Tool axes. We particularly like the Velvicut Premium Hudson Bay Camp Axe. Council Tool has been making axes since the late 1800s, and they're some of the best you get. The Velvicut Premium Hudson Bay Camp Axe features a 19-inch hickory handle and a 2-lb head. That makes a great option for lugging into the backcountry, but it's also ready for

Simple Shot - Scout X

Everyone needs a slingshot. It's a right of passage for kids and a great way for adults to have a quick reminder of childhood. And it just so happens that Simple Shot has a slingshot for everyone. We've been particularly impressed with the Scout X. This model takes the classic forked stick to new levels. With interchangeable palm swells, integrated band attachment clips, and fiber optic sights, the Scout X is designed to help you become a more efficient and accurate slingshot shooter.

Worksharp - Professional Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener

Keeping your cutting tools sharp not only increases their useful life but it also makes it much safer to use them. For edge maintenance, we look to Worksharp. They make great sharpening systems for the field and the workbench. The Professional Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener is one of the newest additions to their line, and it's incredible. It allows you to dial in the edge geometry to ensure you're consistent and then work your way through various grits. From hard-use backcountry blades to your thinnest kitchen knife, it can sharpen all of them.
